Here is what it looked like before we started:

Doesn't look too bad from afar, but look a bit closer:

The tile isn't even grouted! On top of that, the pan was in such poor shape, the tile wasn't even properly adhered:

This lead to a shower that, to say the least, was not very sanitary:

So, the ripout began:

I don't know who mudded the shower pan originally, but they should never be allowed to do another one. The mud bed was incorrectly sloped, had trowel marks throughout and was pitted. Without a total ripout and repour, making it perfect was impossible. Since this shower cannot be out of commission for a week, we went to work with massive amounts of patch:

And a special hardening crack & divot fill:

And, the final product! Looks great, and will be easy to keep clean!
